The GrowingU Program at the HSA-West Houston location is building our school garden this Saturday starting at 9:00 AM! We are constructing three raised beds, two vegetable beds and one flower bed, on a gravel pad. Our plants include pansies, baby spinach, tomatoes, snapdragons, and others! We have four activities for the students that include building the beds, painting the beds, mixing the soil, and planting the seeds. Join us for Open Garden Day at our Genoa Friendship Gardens location! We are open to the public on the third Monday of every month through October from 8:30 am -11:00 am. Master Gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions. For details, visit https://hcmga.tamu.edu.
Open Garden Day has been relocated to the Weekley Community Center at 8440 Greenhouse Rd. We will not have outdoor gardens, so the activities will focus on nature crafts, small plants in pots, and games.
