Master Gardener Speakers Bureau

The Harris County Master Gardener Speakers Bureau offers a wide variety of presentations on horticultural topics for our area. Speakers are available to speak to groups of 10 or more in Harris County.  A sampling of available topics include: EarthKind roses, Container gardening, Native plants, Gardening for butterflies, Propagation, Shade gardening, Texas Superstar plants, Trees for Houston, Vegetable gardening, Rain barrels, Water conservation in landscapes, and Organic gardening.

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Harris County Master Gardeners are pleased to offer the services of our Speakers Bureau at no charge; however, we are happy to accept donations in support of the educational activities of the Harris County Master Gardener Association, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.

To schedule a member of the Master Gardener Speakers Bureau to come speak to your group, please fill out the Speaker Request Form below or call the Extension Office at 713.274.0950.

  • Program Information

  • We require a 30- Day notice for requests in order to arrange for a volunteer and for them to be prepared on the topic that has been requested.

    The speaker will generally arrive 30 minutes before the presentation will begin. This will be confirmed when the speakers contacts you.
  • Some of these topics are only available seasonally.
  • There is a *MINIMUM* attendance of 10 people for our speakers to commit. It is the responsibility of the requestor to publicize the talk and make sure that the speaking engagement has adequate turnout.
  • Checks for any donations, to be made out to HCMGA.
