In Harris County, the Texas AgriLife Extension Service programs strive to:
- Provide communities equal access to quality programmatic support provided by staff trained in community resources and economic development
- Help communities take responsibility for determining their own futures
- Develop appropriate constituency groups to design, obtain and maintain necessary resources to sustain effective agencies
- Teach local economic development leaders to interpret and apply economic data to local development decisions
